With 180 registered attendees and speakers from each Nordic country as well as from United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland, Italy and Ukraine, it once again turned out to be a very succesfull conference. The conference was opened by Major General Rami Saari, Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel.

The NORDEFCO ADL conference committee met in Copenhagen, Denmark to start planning next year's conference, which will be held in Hyvinkää, Finland. We look forward to the continued planning ahead of an exciting conference, which will take place on May 5th - 8th, 2025.

ONLINE LEARNING – AN AREA WHERE NORDIC COOPERATION PAYS OFF

Are we ready for the future? A justified question at this year's recently concluded conference in Halmstad on online learning within the framework of NORDEFCO cooperation (Nordic Defence Cooperation). A record number of participants, about 170 people from around fifteen countries, gathered to listen to lectures by world-leading researchers, participate in workshops, and exchange knowledge and experiences. In challenging times, cooperation and creative yet sensible thoughts are needed.

The conference was opened by Major General Dag Rist Aamoth, CO and principal of the Norwegian Defence University College.

It is with deep regret that we inform you about the cancellation of NORDEFCO ADL's annual conference which this year should have been held in Vingsted, Denmark. Over the last few weeks, the program committee has been closely monitoring the registration for the conference, which has not been satisfactory. There can be many reasons for this, including there are still COVID-19 restrictions in many countries and that the security situation in Europe most likely also plays a role. The program committee has therefore decided not to continue with the planning of the conference this year and therefore cancels this year's conference. The next NORDEFCO ADL Conference will be hosted by Norway in the spring of 2023 and you are more than welcome to submit an abstract and to attend next year’s conference.

Dear colleagues and professionals of ADL. We are still working tirelessly on the planning and look forward to seeing you in Bredsten, Denmark, despite the COVID-19 situation. In Denmark, all COVID-19 restrictions have been removed from February 1st, 2022 and society returns to normal. The same is expected to happen in the other Nordic countries.

Dear colleagues and professionals of ADL. It is our pleasure to invite you to the 10th annual NORDEFCO ADL conference in Denmark. The conference has in recent years grown from a national Norwegian conference to a joint Nordic ADL event with international attendees and speakers. In the spirit of the Nordic cooperation, the NORDEFCO ADL Forum of Experts has decided to make this conference a roving event. The conference will be organized by Denmark in 2022 followed by Sweden in 2023.The main concept of the conference will be more or less the same as previous years with some variation regarding the topics in focus for speeches and workshops. WELCOME TO THE 9TH ANNUAL NORDEFCO ADL CONFERENCE APRIL 27TH – 29TH 2021

Dear colleagues and professionals of ADL. It is our pleasure to invite you to the 9th annual NORDEFCO ADL conference which this year will be arranged online. The conference is a joint Nordic ADL event with national and international attendees and speakers. Covid-19 situation has unfortunately made its marks. As we all know, 2020 conference in Sweden was cancelled due to Covid-19 and because of the same unfortunate situation in 2021, the conference has been changed from a live conference to an online one. The concept of the 2021 conference will be new but will follow previous years with some variation regarding the topics in focus for speeches and presentations. Covid-19 effects and experiences for training and education is certainly one of the most interesting topics.

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the cancellation of the NORDEFCO ADL Annual Conference in Halmstad, Sweden. Over the past few weeks, the program committee have been monitoring worldwide developments related to COVID-19. With many countries and regions recommending self-quarantine and many institutions strongly advising staff, faculty and students to restrict travel, we know it is no longer practical nor ethical to continue with our annual conference. Due to the uncertainty concerning the development of the COVID-19 pandemic the program committee has decided not to postpone the conference to later this year. The next NORDEFCO ADL Conference will be hosted by Finland 27-29 April 2021 and you are more than welcome to submit an abstract and to attend next year’s conference.
